Projects / Bandly

One project for the work around the music.

Everything a working band currently glues together out of five separate tools: a site, a gig calendar, a press kit, a mailing list and somewhere to put the recordings. One place, run by people who have loaded a van at two in the morning.

01The project

A working home for a working artist.

Bandly is not a separate corporate identity and this is not its product website. It is one of Shardly LLC's projects, currently in development.

Bands currently assemble their public presence from a website builder, a mailing service, a ticket page, a shop and several social profiles. Every release and show becomes an admin job. Bandly is meant to make that one system.

02What belongs in it

Six parts, one workspace.

The list below describes the intended product scope. Individual integrations will depend on what their platforms permit, and unfinished work is still unfinished work.

01

Website and publishing

Template-based artist websites with a clean editor for pages, posts, media and richer layouts. Custom domains, project subdomains and link-in-bio pages belong to the same publishing system.

02

Audience and communication

Waitlists, newsletter collection and campaigns sit beside a fan letterbox. Artists can keep the relationship in one place instead of passing the same list between unrelated services.

03

Shows and tickets

Tour dates, ticket-seller links and countdown pages share one source of truth. Change the show once; the public pages should not disagree about the date afterwards.

04

Music and releases

Music-platform connections can provide artist, album and song data, while embedded players put selected tracks on the artist's own page instead of hiding the music behind another profile link.

05

Merch and digital work

Merch integrations where they make sense, plus direct sales of music and other downloadable files. Memberships are part of the same idea: the artist's work and the way fans support it should not live five tabs apart.

06

Connected presence

Social channels and music services connect to the artist profile rather than becoming more pages to maintain. A future mobile surface may follow, but the web product comes first.

03Why this project

The music is complicated enough. The admin can be boring.

One audience

Followers, subscribers and correspondents should not become three disconnected lists.

One update

A show or release should be entered once, then appear everywhere it belongs.

One place to support the work

Listening, buying and joining should feel like parts of the same artist presence.

Current state

In development. No launch date.

“Coming soon” is the whole schedule we are publishing. The scope will become more precise as integrations are tested and the product earns the right to make firmer promises.
